Experimental artist and painter who used bright colors to portray everyday objects. He painted Paisaje con Monumento. He was known for creating non-existent words and imaginary languages.
He initially studied to become an architect, and then trained as a musician. He was employed as a schoolteacher and bureaucrat before embarking on a worldwide tour.
He emulated ancient Chinese and Japanese prints in his landscape from "Fiordo" from 1943.
He was born into a cosmopolitan family headed by patriarch Elmo Schulz Riga.
He was compared to sculptor Wassily Kandinsky.
