Free-form jazz pioneer who influenced many British jazz musicians like Evan Parker and John Stevens.
He attended the Alpha Boys School and moved to the UK in 1951 to advance his musical career. One of his first gigs was with Tony Kinsey.
He appeared on more than twenty recordings as a leader or co-leader.
He was born in Kingston, Jamaica.
One Harriott's first and most outstanding influences was Charlie Parker.
