Emma Stebbins
Sculptor
One of the first notable American woman sculptors, she created a bronze statue of Horace Mann, located in Boston.
She moved to Rome where she moved in with sculptor Harriet Hosmer and studied.
Her best known work is the Angel of the Waters, also known as Bethesda Fountain.
She fell in love with actress Charlotte Saunders Cushman.
She and Allan Mccollum were both well known sculptors.
