Star NBA forward who was selected first overall by the Chicago Bulls in the 1999 NBA Draft. He was a 2-time All-Star as a member of the Los Angeles Clippers from 2001 to 2008.
He averaged 40 points and 20 rebounds per game at Peekskill High School in New York.
He started the Elton Brand Foundation to finance worthy projects around three cities: Chicago, Illinois; Peekskill, New York; and Durham, North Carolina.
He had a son, Elton Peace Brand, with his college sweetheart Seneca ShaHara Simmons.
Because of his height and strength, he drew many comparisons to NBA Hall-of-Famer Charles Barkley.
