Award-winning jazz and gospel singer most their for albums like 1995's On Time God. She was also the host, director and producer of the popular gospel music radio program The Dottie Peoples' Showcase.
She got her start in her local church choir and later, her high school choir.
She won the Atlanta Gospel Choice Award for Song of the Year three straight years from 1994 to 1996.
She is the oldest of ten children. Her father worked for General Motors.
After graduating from high school, she toured with Carvans member and gospel legend Dorothy Norwood.
