Dorothy Norwood
Gospel Singer
Gospel singer who has recorded more than forty albums over the course of her prolific career. She is known primarily as a solo artist and a member of the band The Caravans.
She moved to Chicago in 1956 and began singing alongside fellow gospel singer Mahalia Jackson.
Her album "The Caravans Paved the Way" earned her the Robert Estevis Award.
She and her family began touring as a family band when she was eight years old.
She and Casting Crowns' Mark Hall are two of the Atlanta area's most recognizable gospel singers.
