Chinese badminton player known primarily as a singles player who won titles at tournaments like the Badminton World Cup and the BWF World Championships. She won a silver medal in women's singles at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.
She won her first major title as a doubles player with Zhang Jiewen at the 1998 World Junior Championships.
She and then-boyfriend Lin Dan won the men's and women's singles titles at the IBF World Championships in 2006.
She married Lin Dan in 2010.
She and Spain's Carolina Marin are both World Badminton Champions in women's singles.
