Pitcher who made his major league debut as a member of the Los Angels of Anaheim in 2011. The next year, he was traded to the Colorado Rockies, where he was given a two-year extension in 2015.
He graduated from Redlands East Valley High School in Redlands, California. He was taken in the second round of the 2008 MLB Draft.
His 2014 season ended after just four starts when he was forced to undergo Tommy John surgery to repair a ligament of the elbow in his pitching arm.
His father was also a baseball player.
He was traded from the Angels to the Rockies in exchange for catcher Chris Iannetta.
