Theodore Fats Navarro
Trumpet Player
Bebop jazz pioneer, trumpeter, and improvisational influence on Clifford Brown.
He started playing trumpet when he was thirteen years old before going on to tour with many different bands across the United States.
He passed away at a very young age because of his heroin addiction, a tuberculosis diagnosis, and from being overweight.
He was married to Rena Clark and they had begun raising a daughter named Linda before his untimely death.
Navarro's last performance was at Birdland with Charlie Parker, less than a week before Navarro's death.
