Robert Merrihew Adams
Philosopher
American philosopher best known for his thoughts on metaphysics, religion, and morality.
He landed his first teaching job at UCLA where he worked extensively before moving to Connecticut to teach at Yale.
He was selected as a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 1991.
He married Marilyn McCord Adams, a fellow philosopher.
He taught at Yale University for a number of years, the same university actor Paul Giamatti attended.
