Raymond St. Leger
Biologist
Mycologist and entomologist who published scientific articles and books on fungal pathogens in plants and insects. He attempted to find the cure to malaria by altering insect pathogens.
He attended Exeter University and Birkbeck College London University before he received a Doctor of Philosophy in 1985 in crop protection from the University of Bath, near Bath, England.
He taught entomology at the university of of Maryland, College Park and worked as a consultant on biotechnology for USDA, the NSF, and the US State Department
He grew up in England but resided in the US.
He was a member of the Bill Gates funded National Academies Committee to further scientific research.
