Award-winning and bestselling author whose sixteen novels include Fly Girl and Boss Lady. He published two of his books -- Cold Blooded and College Boy -- under the pen name of Urban Griot.
While studying at Howard University, he created a newspaper column entitled "Food for Thought."
He earned the NAACP Image Award for his 2001 novel For the Love of Money.
He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He and his wife Karintha became parents to a son named Ameer.
Both he and saxophonist Andrew White studied at Howard University.
