At seventeen he was the winner of the All-Ireland Flute Championship.
He has hosted Irish music concerts at his personal pub in Westport, County Mayo.
He learned how to play flute from his father.
He and Celtic Thunder's George Donaldson are two of Ireland's most well-known flautists.
