Maria Rasputin
Memoirist
Daughter of the enigmatic Russian mystic, Grigori Rasputin. She wrote several memoirs about her father's life and murder.
After Rasputin's death, his followers urged Maria to marry her father's successor. They believed that, during their seances, Rasputin's essence would enter the body of his successor.
She fled the country after the Russian revolution and took up work as a cabaret dancer.
With her first husband, Boris Soloviev (her father's successor), she had a daughter named Tatyana. In 1940, Rasputin married her second husband, Gregory Bernardsky.
Ethel Barrymore starred in Rasputin and the Empress, a film based on Maria's father's legacy.
