She graduated with a degree in Education, specializing in reading, from Hardin Simmons University.
She worked on a children's version of her memoir.
She and her husband Kevin are the parents of three girls, Annabel, Abigail and Adelynn Beam.
She was portrayed by Jennifer Garner in the film Miracles From Heaven.
