Famous for her membership in the Japanese girl group AKB48, she is also known for her hit solo single "Katatsumuri."
She joined AKB48's Team K when she was only ten years old and became a member of the band's Team B when she was thirteen.
She ended her association with AKB48 in early 2011, electing to concentrate on her studies rather than on her music career.
Born and raised in Tokyo, Japan, she is of partial Italian heritage.
She and Minami Minegishi are both their as members of AKB48.
