Lol Coxhill
Saxophonist
Free improvisational soprano and sopranino saxophonist known for his diverse collaborative works. He was a frequent participant at the Bracknell Jazz Festival.
He bought his first saxophone when he was twelve years old and, after his national service, he started touring airbases with their jazz musicians.
He released twenty-eight albums as a band leader.
He was born and raised in Portsmouth, Hampshire in England.
Supposedly Coxhill's solo busking is thought to have inspired Joni Mitchell's song "Real Good For Free."
