Blues Singer
Born Amos Wells Blakemore, Jr. and better known by his stage name Junior Wells, this blues singer is remembered for his collaborations with fellow blues musicians Buddy Guy, Earl Hooker, and Muddy Waters. His numerous albums include Hoodoo Man Blues (1965), Chiefly Wells (1986), and Alone & Acoustic (1991).
He started playing the harmonica at age seven and recorded his first tracks in his late teens.
His 1960 single "Little by Little" rose to a Top 25 position on Billboard's R&B chart.
He was raised in West Memphis, Arkansas and Chicago, Illinois.
His non-blues-genre musical collaborators include The Rolling Stones and Bonnie Raitt.
