Geary Francis Eppley

Longtime professor, coach, and athletic director at the University of Maryland.
He enrolled in the Maryland State College of Agriculture (later renamed the University of Maryland), but his studies were interrupted by his service in World War I.
He became the Athletic Director of the Maryland State College of Agriculture in 1937 and served in this capacity for ten years, earning the university one football championship title and six lacrosse titles.
He was born in Washington, D.C.
The athletic program that he established at the University of Maryland continued to attract talented athletes, including basketball player Tamir Goodman.
