She attended Karns High School in Karns, Tennessee. She was a junior there when she was cast on The Voice.
She finished in second place on the December 14th, 2015 finale episode. While on the show, she performed the song "In the Garden," and her rendition placed at #14 on the Billboard Hot Christian Singles chart.
She was born and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee. Her parents are Tommy and Kelly Roberts. She has an older sister named Abby. In the fall of 2020, she married her high school sweetheart Chris Sasser.
She chose to be a member of Blake Shelton's team after receiving a two-chair turn during her blind audition.
