David Ware
Saxophonist
Bandleader, composer, saxophonist, and founder of the David S. Ware Quartet. He was the bandleader on twenty-nine albums over the course of his career, including Great Bliss Vol. 1 and 2.
He attended Berklee College of Music temporarily and then moved to New York City to become part of the loft jazz scene.
He recorded his first album as a bandleader in 1977 with Gene Ashton and Marc Edwards.
He married Setsuko S. Ware.
Ware's quartet originally included Matthew Shipp.
