Artist who has appeared on more than 150 recordings and voted Best Tenor Saxophonist by Down Beat Magazine from 2004 to 2007.
He began playing alto saxophone professionally at age thirteen and developed a devoted local following.
His 1998 album Vertigo was named one of the year's Top Ten Jazz CDs by both Jazziz Magazine and The New York Times.
His family relocated to South Carolina when he was three. He married Karen Potter in 1985.
He has performed as a sideman for numerous acclaimed artists, such as for guitarist Wayne Krantz.
