She began training as an athlete through gymnastics when she was five years old.
IAAF titled her the Female Athlete of the Year for 2004, 2005, and 2008.
She raised a daughter named Eva Isinbayeva with her partner Nikita Petinov.
Shawn Johnson is a also an Olympic gold medalist.
