He earned a degree in science from MIT and UC Santa Barbara before landing on Survivor.
He also starred in the short-lived 2008 series The Skeptologists.
He had two children with his wife of more than two decades, Jennifer Chan.
He lost Survivor: Fiji to Earl Cole , finishing in 4th place.
