She attended and graduated from The Fashion Institute of New York City. Her first couture denim line was called Gettoe Momz and Gettoe Paz.
She has dabbled in numerous fields of work, releasing a single called "Psychotic," starting a talk show called Chatt'n With Mama, and authoring a book called Mama Jones: My Guide to Love and Romance.
She was married to Jim Jones' late father Joseph Guillermo. She has a grandson named Joseph Guillermo III aka Pudy.
Her son has collaborated with rap superstars such as Juelz Santana and The Game.
