Football coach who has served as the head coach at Florida State, Oregon, South Florida and Western Kentucky. He has the distinction of being the first African-American head football coach hired at each of those schools.
He helped lead the Manatee High School football team to a Florida state title as a quarterback. He later played at Western Kentucky, where his jersey was eventually retired.
He was a finalist for the Walter Payton Award in each of his last two seasons as a college football player.
He married a woman named Taneshia, with whom he has children named Willie Jr., Jackson and Morgan.
He replaced Jimbo Fisher as the head coach at Florida State.
