William Strong

Served as an associate justice of the U.S. Supreme Court from 1870 to 1880.
He graduated from Yale University in 1828.
He was one of five justices on the Electoral Commission responsible for resolving the controversial electoral vote dispute of the 1876 presidential election.
He was the cousin of Theron Rudd Strong, a former U.S. Representative for New York.
He was nominated to the Supreme Court by President Ulysses S. Grant.
