One of the founders of Hewlett-Packard Company (HP) alongside David Packard. They founded the company in 1939, incorporated it in 1947, and went public with an initial public offering in 1957.
He earned a Master of Science degree in electrical engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
The decision of whose name would go first in the company name was decided by a coin flip.
He was married to Flora Lamson Hewlett from 1939 until 1977 when she passed away. He then married Rosemary Bradford Hewlett.
Steve Jobs reached out to him when Jobs was young.
