Twentieth-century Chinese poet and author whose works include Hongzhu (Red Candle) and Sishui (Dead Water).
He studied at Tsinghua University and at the Arts Institute of Chicago.
He spoke out in support of the China Democratic League and was subsequently assassinated by spies of the Chinese Nationalist Party.
He was born in Hubei, China. He later married Gao Zhen.
He and Jin Yong were both Chinese authors.
