Vjenceslav Richter
Architect
Associated with the New Tendencies movement and known for his museum, industrial, and interior designs. He was awarded the 1981 Herder Prize and the 1993 Vladimir Nazor Award.
He graduated from the University of Zagreb in 1949, where he had been trained by architectural professor Zdenko Strižić.
He was a founding member of Exat 51, an artistic collective that also included such notables as architect Božidar Rašica and painter Aleksandar Srnec.
He and his wife donated their artwork and their house to the city of Zagreb in 1980.
He and Frank Lloyd Wright were fellow architects.
