Tomi Adeyemi
Novelist
Nigerian-American novelist and teacher who specializes in creative writing. She is most recognized for her Young Adult Fantasy novel entitled "Children of Blood and Bone" which was picked up by Fox 2000 and Temple Hill Productions for a feature film adaptation.
She graduated from Harvard University with an honors degree in English literature. She then went on to study African mythology and culture in Salvador, Brazil.
Her personal website and blog where she shares her writing along with tips and techniques for the craft was listed as one of the best 101 websites for writers by Writer's Digest.
She was born and raised in San Diego, California.
She named Sabaa Tahir's novel An Ember in the Ashes as an inspiration for Children of Blood and Bone in an interview with Vulture in February of 2018.
