He earned his bachelor's degree in history from Louisiana College in 2002 and studied history as a graduate student at Clemson University from 2006 to 2008. He began his YouTube channel on November 14, 2010.
He has amassed more than 200,000 subscribers to his YouTube channel. One of his most popular videos there, "Thomas Hobbes and John Locke: Two Philosophers Compared," has earned more than 250,000 total views. He teaches history in South Carolina.
He has a daughter and a Yorkshire terrier.
He often collaborates with Keith Hughes of HipHughes History and Tim Betts of MrBettsClass. His YouTube channel's introductory video emulates Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly's characters from the film Step Brothers.
