Ethiopian runner and three-time Olympic gold medalist. She also won two bronze medals, one in 2004 and one in 2012.
She competed in her first International track event during the 2001 IAAF World Cross Country Championships.
She won two gold medals for the 10,000 metre and 5,000 metre runs at the 2008 Olympics.
Her sister Ejegayehu Dibaba won a silver medal at the 2004 Olympics. She married fellow runner Sileshi Sihine in 2008.
She competed in the 2008 Olympics where swimmer Michael Phelps won 8 gold medals.
