Thomas Ades
Composer
English composer of orchestral, operatic, choral, and chamber works. From 2005 to 2006, he worked as a resident composer, conductor, and pianist with the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
He placed second in the 1990 BBC Young Musician of the Year contest.
He studied at both King's College, Cambridge and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
He grew up in London, England. In 2006, he began a committed relationship with Israeli cinematic artist Tal Rosner.
In the early 1990s, he composed Life Story, a piece for chamber orchestra and solo vocalist set to text by playwright Tennessee Williams.
