Best known for being the guitarist, pianist, and back-up vocalist for the indie folk duo Wardell. The duo released their debut single, "Opossum," in 2011, which garnered them national attention after becoming NPR's Song of the Day.
They began taking performing together seriously, and as potential careers, in 2010.
In 2013, the duo played at the South by Southwest culture festival. They were also featured in the New York Times. In February 2015, the duo released their debut album, via their own label.
He was adopted by Kate Capshaw; director Steven Spielberg became his father after he married Capshaw in 1991. His siblings are Sasha, Max, Sawyer, Mikaela, and Destry.
He has said that he derived early artistic inspiration from Joe Strummer's punk rock band The Strokes.
