Tasker H. Bliss
War Hero
Four-star general who fought in the Spanish American War and in World War I.
He graduated from the United States Military Academy, where he excelled in the study of languages.
He fought in the Philippines and was also deployed to China and Manchuria.
He grew up in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania as the son of Tasker and Eleanor Bliss.
He retired from the military at the end of World War I, but President Woodrow Wilson ordered him back into military service.
