He made his professional voice acting debut in 1999 in the video game Shenmue.
He won a Male Character Voice Award" at the Famitsu Awards in 2010. He sings in some of his movies as well as providing speaking voices.
He married Risa Taneda.
He and Johnny Yong Bosch both starred in Code Geass.
