Highly-decorated basketball forward who became a multiple-time WNBA Champion, winning titles with the Detroit Shock and Seattle Storm. She also led the United States national women's basketball team to gold medals at the 2004 and 2014 Olympic Games.
She led the University of Connecticut Huskies to two NCAA National Championships, including a perfect 39-0 season in 2002.
In 2013 she received the Kim Perrot Sportsmanship Award, given to the WNBA player who is perceived to have displayed the greatest amount of sportsmanship and integrity.
She was raised primarily by her mother Cynthia. She has siblings named Kevin, Stephen and Angelique. In 2015, she married Steve Canal.
She won the 2010 WNBA Championship with the help of Storm teammate and Finals MVP Lauren Jackson.
