Professional pitcher that was drafted by the Miami Marlins during the fifth round of the 2007 MLB Draft. He reached an agreement with the Los Angeles Angels on a one-year, $1 million contract in March 2021.
Prior to being drafted, he attended Carson-Newman College, which is an NCAA Division II school based in Jefferson City, Tennessee.
He made his major league debut pitching on September 26, 2010 as a member of the Marlins.
He lives with his wife, Marissa, and their three children.
He was once packaged in a trade that included Erasmo Ramírez.
