Stan Rice
Poet
Acclaimed American poet whose literary works include Whiteboy and The Radiance of Pigs. He taught creative writing at San Francisco State University.
He was born in Dallas, Texas, and he later relocated to San Francisco. He published his debut poetry collection, Some Lamb, in 1975.
He died at age sixty of brain cancer.
He married Anne Rice. His poetry collection Some Lamb memorialized his daughter Michele, who died at age six of leukemia. His son Christopher became a writer as well.
His wife Anne wrote The Vampire Chronicles and other works of Gothic fiction.
