A group of youths must defend humanity from intergalactic monsters by piloting massive mech suits known as Franxx. The anime series was directed by Atsushi Nishigori and written by Atsushi Nishigori and Naotaka Hayashi.

Trivia

In 2019, the series won the Best Opening Sequence award at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards. The previous year the show was nominated for more than 10 Newtype Anime Awards.
