He spent his youth career with Cesena and debuted for the club's senior squad in 1982.
He retired in 2003 after spending a year with Perugia.
He was born in Cesena, Italy.
He and midfielder Massimo Ambrosini were teammates on AC Milan from 1995 to 2002.
