Businessman turned politician known first for his investments in businesses like PT Recapital Advisors and Malaysia Airlines. He would later become known for running for deputy governor in the 2017 Jakarta gubernatorial election.
After graduating from Wichita State University, he began his career working at Bank Summa in 1990.
In 2009, he was named by Forbes Magazine as the 29th richest man in Indonesia.
His parents are Razif Halik and Rachmini Rachman. He married Nur Asia and the couple have three children, Anneesha Atheera, Sulaiman Saladdin, and Amyra Atheefa.
He was the running mate of Anies Baswedan in the 2017 Jakarta gubernatorial election.
