Samuel Chase
Supreme Court Justice
Served as an associate justice of the U.S. Supreme Court from 1796 to 1811.
He was admitted to the bar and started his own law practice in Annapolis in 1761.
He was impeached for allegedly allowing his partisan views to affect his court decisions, but was later acquitted by the Senate.
He was the son of Thomas Chase and Matilda Walker.
He was nominated to the Supreme Court by President George Washington.
