Samuel Blatchford

Served as an associate justice of the U.S. Supreme Court from 1882 to 1893.
He graduated from Columbia College.
He served on all three levels of the federal judiciary: District Judge, Circuit Judge, and Supreme Court Justice.
He married Caroline Frances Appleton in 1844. They had one son together.
He was nominated to the Supreme Court by President Chester A. Arthur.
