Salomeja Neris
Poet
Lithuanian poet who wrote under the pen name of Neris. Her numerous literary works earned her the 1938 Lithuanian State Literature Prize.
She studied German language and literature at the University of Lithuania.
She published her first collection of poetry, In the Early Morning, in 1927.
She was raised in Kirsai, Lithuania. She died of cancer at the age of forty.
She and Czeslaw Milosz were both poets from Lithuania.
