In 2014, he became the quarterback for the Canadian Football League's Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Earlier, he played his college football career for both the University of Miami and Purdue University.
During his high school years, he made the Parade All-American football team; was named Florida's Mr. Football; and set a passing yards record (of 4,380) that surpassed Tim Tebow's 2007 record.
In 2013, he tried out with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The child of NFL player Eugene Marve, he spent his youth in Tampa, Florida.
He and linebacker Henoc Muamba both played for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers early in the second decade of the 2000s.
