He began his acting career in a stage production of On Your Way, Riley! in 1982.
He has also had recurring roles on Casualty, Coronation Street and Roger Roger.
He was married to Amanda Waring from 1993 to 2002 and has two daughters with second wife, Amy Robbins.
He acted alongside Philip Glenister in the comedy series, Roger Roger.
