New Zealand-born player who became known as a specialist right wing for the Kintetsu Liners, as well as various Super Rugby teams.
He played for the Gisborne East Coast under-13 team.
He was named Rebel Sport Super 12 Player of the Year and the Tom French Memorial Māori Player of the Year while playing for the Crusaders.
He was born in 1978 in Gisborne, New Zealand.
His older brother, Hosea Gear, also became a professional footballer.
