Famous for his Rick Stein at Bannisters restaurant (located in Mollymook, Australia), this chef and seafood specialist also opened several food establishments in Padstow, Australia. A celebrity chef, he hosted numerous culinary television programs, including Seafood Odyssey; Rick Stein's Taste of the Sea; Mediterranean Escapes; and Food Heroes.
After earning an English degree from New College, Oxford University, he opened a nightclub and, after it closed, his first dining establishment, The Seafood Restaurant.
By 2015, his culinary empire was valued at well over 30 million pounds (or 50 million dollars).
Born in England to Dorothy and Eric Stein, he later settled in Australia with his first wife, Jill Stein, and his sons Charles, Edward, and Jack. His second marriage, to publisher Sarah Burns Stein, began in 2011.
He began his rise to fame after being featured on the Keith Floyd-hosted cooking show Floyd On Fish.
